In April 2021 Iona was successful in receiving an ACE (Arts Council England) develop your creative practice grant to develop herself as a sensory theatre composer. 

 

Through the support of this grant she was able to:

⁃ Have consultations with foley artists, musicians, musical directors and sensory theatre experts. 

⁃ Complete an online music production course. 

⁃ Invest in music recording equipment and specialist instruments. 

⁃ Dedicate time to composing material using new found techniques and equipment. 

 

Iona is excited to put this dedicated development time into practice and is currently developing a new bespoke musical project for audiences with the most barriers to access and those labelled with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities).
