Hello - I'm Iona!

I am lucky enough to have performed all over the UK with some wonderful companies as an

actor musician, facilitator, deviser and puppeteer

performing to a variety of different audiences in many different places.

I have a big passion for working with young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs.

I use music in almost every job I get, so when all of my performance work was cancelled at the beginning of the pandemic, I wanted to find a way to connect to these audiences who have to isolate even when they aren’t in a pandemic.

This resulted in me adapting my skills and experience, investing in recording equipment, and writing, composing and recording musical stories in the hopes to reach families who could benefit from it.

I am very excited that these experiences have led to me recently being awarded a DYCP grant from Arts Council England.  I am confident that this activity will have an impactful change on my work for the future, leading to new opportunities to create high quality musical experiences for young people with PMLD.
